The last week on Mumbo has been a week of opposites: the first guests to arrive were two families of very active South African guests, who really made the most of the activities offered on Mumbo notching up a record number of twenty dives in three days!

At one point three guests were on a SCUBA dive, three were kayaking around the island, others were hiking the walking trails, one of the guests was training Rob, our dive instructor to free dive (they went to 14.5m) and one very fit girl (Line Griffiths) resolved to swim all the way around the island (in spite of quite choppy waters).

We sent our guide to accompany her in a double kayak in case she got into difficulties, but this was happily a needless precaution because she swam steadily and without a pause and arrived back on the beach in under an hour. Very impressive (but then again, she had swum from Robben Island in Cape Town to shore, which must prepare one for anything!)

After all this action a more exhausted group of guests arrived on the island and made the most of the relaxing opportunities there, spending time quietly reading in the lounge and on the beach, doing some serious hammock time and sleep catch up.

Mumbo can obviously provide whatever it is you need to restore the spirits.
